On July 22, the Forum on Judicial Appraisal/Forensic Science Innovation and Development and the Third Annual Meeting of the Western Judicial Appraisal Association were held in Xining under the background of the reform of the "trial-centered" litigation system. This annual conference forum is sponsored by Qinghai Judicial Expertise Association. It comes from the courts, procuratorates, lawyers, judicial experts of Beijing, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Hunan and Qinghai provinces and cities, as well as China University of Politics and Law, Lanzhou University, Fourth Military Medical University, Xi'an University of Architectural Science and Technology and Ningxia Medical Science. At the university, experts and scholars from the editorial department of China Judicial Appraisal delivered keynote speeches, and more than 80 people from 12 provinces (municipalities and districts) in the west, the heads of the Judicial Appraisal Administration (bureaus), the heads of the Judicial Appraisal Association and the authors of articles contributed to the forum participated in the conference.

The forum was held in the form of theme solicitation, during which 82 contributions were received, 67 papers were selected (the selected articles will be compiled into the official publication of the paper collection), and 22 keynote exchange speeches were made. The keynote speeches of the forum are divided into six themes, namely, the administration of judicial expertise, the expert system, the expert assistant system, the expert testimony system, the technical evidence review and acceptance mechanism, and the Commission and implementation system of judicial expertise. Around the theme of the forum, experts, scholars and practitioners of legal and forensic expertise put forward opinions, suggestions and ideas to promote the innovative development of forensic expertise/forensic science from different perspectives and aspects, combining their theoretical research and work practice, which aroused resonance and heated discussion among the representatives of the conference. Everyone said that the forum exchange and discussion is rich in content and has benefited a lot. Many opinions and suggestions are instructive and referential for doing their work well.
